The recognition of the Armenian Genocide by President Biden means a lot to my family. My family is from Bitlis. One of the towns that Turks completely wiped out during the Armenian Genocide. My grandfather Abgar managed to evacuate his pregnant wife Mariam and their one-year-old son Andranik right before the Turkish Army and Kurdish militants burned their house down. Later, he learned that the rest of his family didn't survive. They were marched to one of the five Armenian churches in Bitlis and annihilated. Abgar's and Mariam's second child, my father Mihran, was born in 1916. We carried the pain through generations. We fought the Armenian cause to make sure this never happens again. We built and sponsored hush.am to help Armenians find their roots and ancestors, and we are working on expanding our coverage internationally by adding more data to hush.am. We already cover cemeteries in London, Sacramento, Vienna, Geneva, Tbilisi. Please consider donating if you like what we are doing.
